We are delighted to confirm that Ballinhassig AFC has been awarded €10,000 under this year’s Capital Fund Grant from Cork County Council. A sincere thank you to Cork County Council and to the Elected Members of the Carrigaline Municipal District for their continued support of our developments at Gortnaglough Community Park.
The funding will allow us to move ahead with the next stage of works to extend car parking and improve traffic flow and safety within the grounds. We hope to begin the works in the coming weeks and, weather permitting, expect the main construction phase to take approximately 3-4 days. During that time there will be some disruption within the grounds. Please follow any temporary signs, barriers or instructions in place while the work is being carried out.

** Please Slow Down on the Road to Gortnaglough **
We would also like to take this opportunity to ask all members, parents, players and visitors to please slow down when driving on the road up to and from the club. As everyone who uses the road knows, it is a very narrow road with a number of blind bends and limited visibility in places. It is also used every day by our neighbours, walkers, cyclists and other local residents who have always been very supportive of the club.
We fully understand that families are often rushing from work, school or other activities to get to training and matches on time, but it is far better to arrive a few minutes late than to try to make up time on a narrow and potentially dangerous road.
Please drive carefully, be patient when meeting other vehicles, give way where necessary and always be courteous to our neighbours and other road users.
The improvements within the grounds will make Gortnaglough safer and easier to use, but road safety starts before we reach the gate.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
