Everyone at Ballinhassig AFC would like to extend their sympathy and thoughts to John Joe O'Brien and his family after the passing of his brother and a founding player of Ballinhassig AFC.

Billy, along with his brother John Joe, played an integral part of the founding of our soccer club back in 1979 and lined out for a number of seasons, winning among other things, the 1982 Flor Crowley Cup (first photograph). Billy also played in the 1979 team (second photograph), which is the first ever photo of a Ballinhassig side.

A guard of honour will be created by club members past and present to respect Billy's passing after the funeral mass in Ballyheada church noon 6th December.
